Launched in July, 2006, nymaa.org was designed and is maintained by the Technology Work Group of the New York Metro Alliance of Anarchists. Its function is as a resource for members of NYMAA, as well as the general anarchist community in NYC and surrounding regions. However, only NYMAA members can participate in posting and moderating the site.

If you are a member of NYMAA, and don't have posting priveleges yet, please contact the Tech WG [1] . Please be patient as it may take a while to enable your user settings.

What to post you ask? Provisional posting criteria (coming soon).

There's still much functionality that we'd like to add to this site, but because of our limited resources and time, please be patient. If there's a function you'd like to see, please bring it to our attention by making a comment below. If you are familiar with Drupal, and can volunteer some time, say that too.

A note on moderation: the tech crew is currently working on a point system whereby those members making posts get "points" for each post, and after a certain number of points acrue, that user gets a moderator status, which allows them to moderate the site (exactly WHAT they would moderate is to be determined). Stay tuned.

Posting/ viewing priveleges:

Admin: Full administration rights (that means deleting stuff, changing functions, etc).
Moderators: Yet to be determined.
Members: Full posting. Full viewing.
Friends: Limited posting (events and press releases only). Limited viewing (cannot view meeting minutes nor resource pages).
