This Saturday, August 25th, there will be a benefit party to raise money for two community groups in Sunset Park, the SPEAC School Planning Team and SPAN. Both groups are 100% volunteer, community-led, and consensus based. The SPEAC School Planning Team is seeking to open a new 6th-12th grade public school in our neighborhood with a focus on wellness. SPAN (Sunset Park Alliance of Neighbors) is a group of community members organizing around issues of over-development and gentrification.

$10 minimum donation at the door

All proceeds will support these two neighborhood groups:
* The SPEAC (Sunset Park Education In Action Community) School Planning Team - a group of community residents and allies seeking to open a new public community school in Sunset Park with a focus on wellness and social justice
* SPAN (Sunset Park Alliance of Neighbors) - a collective of Sunset Park residents organizing to protect the community from over-development and gentrification.

Please come out and support! Food & alcohol will be available. A DJ and great live performers (including Mahina Movement - www.mahinamovement.net) will keep you groovin' all night long, plus, there is an outdoor patio space for chillaxin'...
