SCHEDULE/FORMAT
6-7pm: UPDATE ON THE US SOCIAL FORUM WITH SUNG E BAI FROM CAAAV
(CAAAV/Organizing Asian Communities is a member of the US Social Forum
(USSF) national planning committee and Sung E will briefly reportback
from the most recent meeting in Chicago.)
-this session is for persons/groups who want to get the basics on the
USSF and be updated on all the plans for this summer's events from
June 27-July 1st in Atlanta, Georgia. Dozens of NYC groups are already
planning on attending. COME JOIN US! (If you don't need an update,
just show up at 7pm sharp.)

7-9:30PM WORKSHOP ON REGISTRATION AND PROPOSAL SUBMISSION
-Would you like help in registering your organization for the USSF?
We will have organizers from the Northeast Regional USSF organizing
committee on hand to help.
-WOULD YOU LIKE ASSISTANCE IN SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL? We will have
NYC organizers on hand to help your group with questions or concerns
such as: how do you submit a proposal? What groups have already
submitted proposals? We would like to collaborate with other local
groups, how can we get in touch with them? (The proposal deadline is
April 27th, 2007.)
-NOTE: REGISTRATION AND PROPOSAL SUBMISSION CAN BE DONE ON-LINE AT
WWW.USSF2007.ORG So if your group feels comfortable do all this on
the web, please do. The purpose of this meeting is to allow groups to
meet face to face, get a feel for what is going on, and ask questions
directly. But even if you have already submitted a proposal, you/your
group is welcome to attend this meeting to meet others and share
info/strategies and so on.

The USSF is a truly grassroots operation where groups and
organizations from all over the country are organizing sessions to
create the analyses, coalitions, visions and strategies to help the US
Left in all its diversity move its multidimensional agenda forward
during these times of war and right-wing neoliberalism. Like all
Social Forums, the USSF is organized from the bottom-up and this
meeting is being organized in that spirit: to promote collaboration
and foster inclusion (and avoid the phenomenon where similar groups
submit similar proposals because they are unaware of what other groups
are doing). Because organizations must be registered to submit a
proposal, this meeting would also facilitate that process. We will
have lap tops in the room to do registrations and submissions on site.
