Sixth Declaration Forum

Should NYMAA declare itself an Adherent to the Sixth Declaration. If so, why and what would that mean practically? If not, why not?

I think that if we do declare ourselves Adherents we should follow it up with concrete actions. Solidarity statements aren't really meaningful for us or for the Zapatistas. Based on what I saw of The Other Campaign, the EZLN was much more interested in forging links with groups who were actively doing things and not with groups who were making statements or denunciations.

Some possible things we could do would be to take a more active role in solidarity with the undocumented Wobblies in Bushwick as Jon has suggested. We could also contact MJB and ask them if there are any solidarity or mutual-aid actions we could do with them.

Any other ideas?

agreed. these statements are meaningless unless followed up by action.. its like signing a petition or something. bushwick connection sounds very interesting in terms of the other campaign. perhaps we can bring justicia en el barrio out to bushwick (the only other adherents in nyc that i know of).

As Anarchists we could do no less than to provide what aid and support we can to the locked-out workers in Bushwick. I am also partial to supporting the spirit of the Third Declaration by engaging in revolutionary propaganda with the coming electoral circus as our backdrop.
